Trevor disease (also known as Fairbank’s disease and Trevor’s disease), is a congenital bone developmental disorder.
This disorder is rare, and is characterised by an asymmetrical limb deformity due to localized overgrowth of cartilage, histologically resembling osteochondroma.[1] The condition occurs mostly in the ankle region and it is always confined to a single limb.[2] This usually involves only the lower extremities. It is named after researcher David Trevor. [3]
Trevor disease was first described by the French surgeon Albert Mouchet and J. Belot in 1926. In 1956, the name “dysplasia epiphysealis hemimelica” was proposed by Fairbank.[4]
